Registration is open for a repeat webinar for the fully subscribed evaluation training event, there is no limit to the number of attendees. Anyone interested in impact (of research infrastructures) is welcome to join, you do not need to be part of ELIXIR.

Call for new member of the ELIXIR Industry Advisory Committee (IAC)

Candidates from life science companies are invited to join the ELIXIR Industry Advisory Committee (IAC).

Applications are particularly encouraged from experts in the fields of plant and crop, food and nutrition sciences, as well as scientific publishing, AI and machine learning in life sciences.

BioSamples database: FAIRer samples metadata to accelerate research data management

The BioSamples database is the central institutional repository for sample metadata storage and connection to EMBL-EBI archives and other resources. Here, we illustrate BioSamples through exemplar use cases: how increased findability of samples and improved data management practices support the goals of the ReSOLUTE project and how the plant community benefits from being able to link genotypic to phenotypic information. We highlight how cumulatively these improvements contribute to more complex multi-omics data integration supporting COVID-19 research.

Data Stewardship training program for life sciences

The BioData.pt | ELIXIR PT Data Stewardship Program for the Life Sciences is the first training programme dedicated to data stewards in life sciences.

The ideal trainee

  • has a PhD in life sciences
  • has a permanent position and an interest in data
  • can commit to the whole training program
  • will use the training to support their institution in data management, FAIR data and open science policies

Register for the Training Platform meeting

16-18 March 2022 | Brussels, Belgium and virtually

Registration deadline (for in-person attendance) - 16 February
After two years, the Training Platform, including all of ELIXIR's Training Coordinators, will meet to share updates and work on open training related aspects and ELIXIR Training Platform tasks as part of the 2022-2023 programme.

There is a limit of 25 in-person participants but none for virtual attendees. If the in-person component can't go ahead, the meeting will be fully virtual. Please contact Katharina Heil for any questions.

The ELIXIR Research Data Alliance Focus Group invite ELIXIR stakeholders to nominate members for the steering committee.

E-mail Sirarat Sarntivijai with your nomination and a short-bio. A two-week open anonymous consultation will follow.

The ELIXIR RDA Focus Group is open to ALL ELIXIR members to participate.
