Implementing FAIR data management within the German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure (de.NBI) exemplified by selected use cases
An ELIXIR Germany paper
This article describes some use case studies and self-assessments of FAIR status of de.NBI services to illustrate the challenges and requirements for the definition of the needs of adhering to the FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable) data principles in a large distributed bioinformatics infrastructure.
IUPred3: prediction of protein disorder enhanced with unambiguous experimental annotation and visualization of evolutionary conservation
An ELIXIR Hungary and Implementation Study paper
Intrinsically disordered proteins and protein regions (IDPs/IDRs) exist without a single well-defined conformation. Computational methods play important roles in the characterization of IDRs. One of the commonly used disorder prediction methods is IUPred, which relies on an energy estimation approach. In this new iteration of IUPred, we added multiple novel features to enhance the prediction capabilities of the server.
