The latest draft of the ELIXIR Scientific Programme 2019-2023 has been sent to Heads of Node for review. The milestones and timeline for the development of the Programme is available on the ELIXIR website.
ELIXIR has published an updated version of the Handbook of Operations. In it you can now find our updated Guidelines for workshops. We encourage anyone organising an event to take a look at these guidelines!
The Call for Proposals for ELIXIR Community-led Implementation Studies is now open. Completed applications should be sent, together with the corresponding Declarations of Support, to proposals@elixir-europe.org. Read the Call for Proposals in full. A webinar will be held this Wednesday 5 September to explain the application process.
The ECCB 2018 in Athens starts already this Saturday 8 September. ELIXIR is the conference main partner and will have eight workshops, a dedicated ELIXIR Application track, and a Poster session. You'll find all relevant info on the ELIXIR website and at www.eccb18.org. See you all in Athens!

Updates from Communities
The proposed ELIXIR Community in Structural Bioinformatics is holding a launch meeting on 19 October 2018 in Basel, Switzerland. The meeting will discuss a proposed new ELIXIR Community in Structural Bioinformatics 3DBioInfo. The meeting will be capped at 100 participants, registration is on first come first served basis (registration fee 50 CHF).
If you would like to give a flash talk (one slide) to advertise a poster at the meeting on a proposed ELIXIR activity (involving collaborations across two or more groups within an ELIXIR Node and preferably involving two or more nodes), send a one-page summary to c.orengo@ucl.ac.uk, outlining the groups and ELIXIR Nodes involved and the ELIXIR platforms this activity would relate to. Deadline for the abstracts: 30 September.
The European Galaxy Days will be held on 19 and 20 November 2018 in Freiburg, Germany. The event will discuss the status of the Galaxy project, new developments, interfaces to other systems, extensions and best practice in reproducible research. Registration is now open, space is limited.
