The FAIR Cookbook - the essential resource for and by FAIR doers
A FAIRplus project paper
To address the lack of practical guidance on applying FAIR principles, and help with capability gaps, the FAIRplus project developed the FAIR Cookbook, an open, online resource of hands-on recipes for FAIR doers in the Life Sciences. Created by researchers and data managers professionals in academia, (bio)pharmaceutical companies and information service industries, the FAIR Cookbook covers the key steps in a FAIRification journey, the levels and indicators of FAIRness, the maturity model, the technologies, the tools and the standards available, as well as the skills required, and the challenges to achieve and improve data FAIRness. Part of the ELIXIR ecosystem, and recommended by funders, the FAIR Cookbook is open to contributions of new recipes.

The ELIXIR Biodiversity Community: Understanding short- and long-term changes in biodiversity
An ELIXIR Community white paper
Biodiversity loss is now recognised as one of the major challenges for humankind to address over the next few decades. ELIXIR can help address the technical challenges of biodiversity science, through leveraging its suite of services and expertise to enable data management and analysis activities that enhance our understanding of life on Earth and facilitate biodiversity preservation and restoration. This white paper, prepared by the ELIXIR Biodiversity Community, summarises the current status and responses, and presents a set of plans, both technical and community-oriented, that should both enhance how ELIXIR Services are applied in the biodiversity field and how ELIXIR builds connections across the many other infrastructures active in this area.

Single-cell RNA sequencing enabling individual disease treatment
The revolutionary single-cell RNA sequencing measures the activity of all genes separately in each cell, giving a more accurate picture of how cells differ from each other. This technology will produce a vast amount of information on diseases, such as cancer.
