Hub updates

GenomeWeb has published an article (paywall) presenting the FAIRplus project and how it is relevant to the improves the FAIRness of genomics data.

You can join or leave ELIXIR groups on the intranet and its associated mailing lists easily through a new page on the intranet. It will also give you a nice overview of the groups you are part of and the groups you can join.

The next Weekly brief will come out on Tuesday (7 May) next week, as Monday is a bank holiday in the UK.

Updates from Platforms

A new report from the ELIXIR RDA group from the 12th RDA Plenary Meeting is now available via the ELIXIR Intranet. We would like to acknowledge the members of ELIXIR's RDA Group, who actively represent ELIXIR in RDA meetings! The group can be contacted at: rda-contact@elixir-europe.org.

ELIXIR UK is proud to announce that Christine Orengo PI of CATH, co-founder of 3DBioInfo and member of ELIXIR-UK since its foundation has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society.

Registrations are open for the Summer School - Bioinformatics for Biologists: An introduction to Data Exploration, Statistics and Reproducibility, 1-5 July 2019, Cambridge, UK. Register here.

Registration are open for two training courses in Niel, Belgium, as part of the Interreg-funded Helis Academy:

• FAIR Data Stewardship - Digital data scholarship for wetlab scientists, 27-29 May, organised by DTL / ELIXIR Netherlands
• Omics data analysis through data integration - using biological pathways, networks, and linear models, 11-14 June, organised by VIB / ELIXIR Belgium and University of Maastricht.
