Updates from Platforms

ECCB 2018 in Athens will host an ELIXIR Workshop Implementation of DMPs and Data Stewardship in practice on Tuesday 11 September at 17:30-19:00. The workshop is organized by ELIXIR-LU, ELIXIR-SI and ELIXIR-NL and is part of the ELIXIR Implementations Study about Data stewardship in ELIXIR.

Updates from Communities

ELIXIR - together with SIB are the partners and co-hosts of the 6th GA4GH Plenary meeting in Basel, Switzerland on 3 October, 2018, and will have a dedicated session during the meeting. Additionally there will be an ELIXIR booth within the exhibit hall. A key objective for this meeting is to map ELIXIR involvement in GA4GH related activities. Look forward to seeing you there.

Registration is open for Metabolomics Data Processing and Data Analysis, an online SPOC (Small Private Online Course) running from 8 October until 2 November 2018. This course will explore the tools and approaches used to process and analyse metabolomics data, investigate the challenges typically encountered and provide solutions to overcome them. Organised by the University of Birmingham (ELIXIR UK).

The 1st de.NBI Cloud User Meeting on 29-31 October 2018 is your chance of meeting users, developers and administrators using the de.NBI Cloud. The event at the Bielefeld University will present life science projects hosted in the de.NBI Cloud and the state-of-the-art cloud computing technologies like Spark, Docker and Kubernetes.

Registration is open for the ELIXIR Netherlands Galaxy Course Bioinformatics for Translational Medicine using Galaxy: see it, do it, teach it!, 17-19 October 2018 in Amsterdam.

Registrations are open to life scientists who want to learn Computing skills for reproducible research: Software Carpentry 24-25 October, Ghent Belgium.
