Hub updates

The EOSC-Life project brings together the 13 Biological and Medical ESFRI research infrastructures and aims to publish FAIR life science data resources for cloud use with the E. Sign up for their newsletter to hear about their updates.

We're hiring at the Hub. We have an opening for a Human Data Scientific Officer working on mapping Personalised Medicine Data resources across Europe, developing policies for data management and use in healthcare settings and more. Deadline 18 September 2019.

Last week (19-23 August) the CODATA - ELIXIR Advanced Bioinformatics workshop took place at the ICTP in Trieste, Italy, in conjunction with the CODATA-RDA Research Data Science Summer School. The workshop was supported by ELIXIR and was organized by Fotis Psomopoulos (INAB|CERTH, ELIXIR-GR), co-instructing with Amel Ghouila (H3ABioNet), Phelelani Mpangase (H3ABioNet) and Maria Tsagiopoulou (INAB|CERTH). The materials of the course is available here (CC-BY) and listed on TeSS as well.

Registration is now open for the two workshops on "Practical Data and Software Skills for Reproducible Research" taking place at the University of Arkansas Rome Center in October.

Updates from Nodes

There's still time to register for the ELIXIR Belgium All Hands meeting on 16 September 2019. The event is open to all scientists from academia, research institutes and industry, so please share with your colleagues. Registration will close 6 September 2019.

ELIXIR Finland have published a detailed article on Federated user ID management: a single identity giving access to numerous bioinformatics services, detailing the purpose and use of the ELIXIR AAI and ELIXIR-GA4GH Beacon Network.
 

Open call for the 'Enabling Technologies Hotels' programme by Dutch organisations ZonMw and NWO which aims to stimulate active collaboration between researchers with and without access to high-end technologies. Main applicant must be a scientist from a Dutch public research organisation.
