Updates from Platforms

Early registration deadline for the NETTAB workshop is this Friday on 28 September, the call for late posters is open until 7 October. This year's NETTAB will have a strong ELIXIR presence with several talks from ELIXIR Nodes and Platforms.

Bioschemas travel grants are available to attend Bioschemas workshop at NETTAB, apply immediately. The deadline for the Bioschemas-NETTAB travel grant application is today.

Limited spaces at Biohackathon are reserved for Bioschemas hacking activities. There also Bioschemas travel grants available to implement Bioschemas hacking under the topic Adding Bioschemas markup to data repositories and developing tools to find, consume and use it. The deadline is 10 October 2018.

Registration (free of charge) is open for the ELIXIR-NL Galaxy Course Bioinformatics for Translational Medicine using Galaxy: see it, do it, teach it!, 17-19 October 2018 in Amsterdam.

Still are seats left for the ELIXIR-EXCELERATE Train the Trainer (TtT) event in Stockholm, Sweden, 9-11 October 2018. The event is a collaboration between ELIXIR-SE and ELIXIR-IIB.

Updates from Communities

The ELIXIR Intrinsically Disordered Proteins Community will hold its first Community meeting in Padova on 31 October. The aim of this meeting is to set the Communitys strategy and identify the main themes to be included in their strategic paper in F1000Research.

Job board

ELIXIR France (IFB) is looking to hire a candidate to work on Bioinformatics resource interoperability development.

ELIXIR Sweden is looking for one or two system developers with operational responsibility, based at Uppsala University.

The ELIXIR Core Data Resource, CATH, is seeking to hire a 3 years Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on protocols for using protein structural data to link sequence with function.

ELIXIR is offering an internship position relating to Beacon. The candidate will support the ELIXIR Beacon implementation study and the Beacon activities driven by the Human Genomics and Translational Data Services at the ELIXIR Hub.

The SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics Data Coordination Centre (DCC) and BioMedIT in Basel (part of ELIXIR Switzerland) is looking for a Director, Data Coordination Centre and Personalized Health Informatics Group.
