An ELIXIR-GR paper

The comprehensive characterization of probiotic action has flourished during the past few decades with the evolution of high-throughput, multiomics platforms. The meaningful interpretation of generated data remains a challenge, however, the maturation of systems biology and artificial intelligence has supported analysis of results. In this review article, we present current literature on the use of multiomics approaches in probiotic studies, discuss current trends in probiotic research, and examine the possibility of tailor-made probiotic supplementation. Lastly, we delve deeper into newer technologies, such as single-cell multiomics analyses, and provide recommendations for enabling maximization of probiotic efficacy.

BioHackathon Europe 2021

Biodiversity data are collected by people, and those people often work in teams. Those teams may be large, particular when they are part of an expedition, though they may be also be as small as two people. Data on who works together can help refine biodiversity data in many ways. It can help us cross-reference data to ensure it is consistent and valid. It helps us acknowledge the contribution to science of all of the participants. It helps us understand how scientific collection, learning and communication operates and this can give us insights into the biases and effectiveness of the collection process. Also, the relationships between people, and the organisations they are members of, are interesting from a historic and sociological perspective.
