Hub updates
Final call to submit your papers and proposals for the ECCB 2016 to take place on 3-7 September 2016 in The Hague, the Netherlands. The programme will feature a dedicated track to showcase ELIXIR activities. The talks in the ELIXIR track will be selected through an open call, together with the general ECCB 2016 call. The deadline for submissions is next Tuesday 29 March 2016. Nodes interested in having an exhibition booth in the 'ELIXIR corner' should contact femke.francissen@dtls.nl.
Montse Gonzalez has joined the ELIXIR Hub as ELIXIR Technical Project Officer to support quality assurance.
The recording from the webinar presented by representatives from the ELIXIR Hub on the BioSchemas project last week as part of the ELIXIR Webinar Series, is now available via the ELIXIR website.
BioSchemas also officially submitted new properties for Events to schema.org. The new Event properties will facilitate sharing and exchange of event announcements in the life science community.
EXCELERATE update
Partners ELIXIR-EXCELERATE are strongly reminded to familiarise themselves with the rules of using EU funding. Guidance on basic principles, including timesheeting requirements and explanations on what type of costs can be reimbursed by the Commission ("eligible costs"), is available in the documents 'European Commission Funding Rules in a Nutshell', and 'Guidance around organising workshops'.
Errors in how funds are used and reported may, in the worst case, lead to costs being declined by the European Commission, leaving the beneficiary to cover them from their core budget.
