In silico saturation mutagenesis of cancer genes

A Nature publication from ELIXIR Spain

Despite the existence of good catalogues of cancer genes, identifying the specific mutations of those genes that drive tumorigenesis across tumour types is still a largely unsolved problem. As a result, most mutations identified in cancer genes across tumours are of unknown significance to tumorigenesis. We propose that the mutations observed in thousands of tumoursnatural experiments testing their oncogenic potential replicated across individuals and tissuescan be exploited to solve this problem.

Galaxy Video tutorials

More than 75 hours of Galaxy tutorials have been produced in 130 videos between the GTN Smrgsbord hosted in February, and the Galaxy Community Conference last month. The 10 days worth of content covers a wide array of scientific topics from SARS-CoV-2 to Machine Learning to Climate change, and of course, plenty of *omics! New this year was the addition of a Developer focused track teaching the ins and outs of Vue and Galaxy development.

FAIRsFAIR is opening for community review the draft on How to be FAIR with your research data a teaching and training handbook for HEIs.

Written by a group of about 40 collaborators via a book sprint event, the next iteration of the handbook will be presented at the workshop on Practical implementation of FAIR-related content in university curricula and teaching.
