The BY-COVID project begins

A new project was launched last Wednesday to tackle the data challenges that can hinder effective pandemic response. The BY-COVID project, which is coordinated by ELIXIR, aims to help mobilise, connect, standardise and expose SARS-CoV-2 data by providing tools, protocols and promoting FAIR data standards, and ensuring these methods can be applied to other infectious diseases.

TeSS goes down under

A new registry for training materials, events, and trainers, has been launched in Australia. Digital Research Skills Australia (DReSA) is directly modelled on the highly successful, international ELIXIR Training e-Support System (TeSS) platform and created as a result of cross-border collaboration and the ELIXIR-Australia BioCommons collaboration strategy.

Prostate cancer is caused by genomic aberrations in normal epithelial cells, however clinical translation of findings from analyses of cancer cells alone has been very limited. A deeper understanding of the tumour microenvironment is needed to identify the key drivers of disease progression and reveal novel therapeutic opportunities.

Apologies again for the mistake in last week's Weekly Brief. This is a joint endeavour between the data and interoperability Platforms.

This hybrid meeting will highlight areas of collaboration, plan the future tasks, prepare for 2022-23 deliverables, and discuss the strategic planning of the 2024-28 Scientific Programme.

There is a limit of 30 participants for in-person participation on a first-come-first-serve basis, with no limit on virtual participation. Please contact Sirarat Sarntivijai for any questions.
