Hub updates

Please check out our latest news release - Germany scales up bioinformatics training - to find out how de.NBI and ELIXIR Germany have successfully scaled up their training efforts to deliver over 250 courses to over 5,200 people over the last few years.

The ELIXIR Board meets in Harpenden, UK, on 18-19 November. Agenda items will include the 2020 Work and Financial Plan, Commissioned Service contracts that require approval and the appointment of new members to the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) and Industry Advisory Committee (IAC).

Updates from Platforms

At 13:00 CET on 27 November the ELIXIR Training Platform will be hosting an Ask Us Anything" session via GoTomeeting. Members of all Platforms and Communities are welcome to attend. Updates from Nodes

EMBL-EBI training are hosting the 2nd European Network Biology Conference: From Networks to Modelling in Hinxton, UK, 20 - 22 April 2020. The early bird registration (50 discount) is available until 31 December 2019. Abstract submissions are open until 13 March 2020. This course will be followed by an optional advanced course on Cytoscape.

ELIXIR Finland have released a new case study on their new authentication solution SisuID, removing the need for passwords and two-factor authentication, and instead focusing on adaptable facial recognition. This functionality may in the future be integrated with the ELIXIR AAI.

ELIXIR Portugal organized a Plant Phenotyping-Genotyping Data Management Workshop on 12 November, featuring a keynote talk from Anne-Franoise Adam-Blondon presenting ELIXIR efforts on this topic, as well as a hands-on MIAPPE training session whose material repository can be consulted.
