ELIXIR Open Call

ELIXIR Knowledge Exchange Scheme (EKES)

The EKES covers travel and accommodation expenses and salaries of ELIXIR members to work on a collaborative project with an industry partner.

For 2021, we will allow salary costs up to 1 PM to be included in the project proposal. This new possibility has been introduced to facilitate knowledge exchange amid travel restrictions.

2nd Galaxy-ELIXIR webinar series. Open Data Infrastructures to tackle COVID-19 pandemic

In a series of six webinar sessions, experts from ELIXIR and the global Galaxy community from the US, Australia and Europe will demonstrate how open access and open science are fundamental for fast and efficient response to public health crises.

The first session starts this Wednesday, on COVID-19 analysis in Galaxy: Lessons learned and introduction to the series.

ELIXIR-NL updates

Friederike Ehrhart (Maastricht University) presented the ELIXIR service bundle generation creation process to the FNS Cloud project. FNS Cloud is an infrastructure project for Food and Nutrition.

In the upcoming weeks, there will be three webinars from FAIRsFAIR in which ELIXIR-NL has participated in the content (see webinar section)

In 2019, the ELIXIR Training Platform surveyed the training needs of its scientific communities with a gap analysis survey. The report is now available.

This year, the Platform opens the survey once again to optimise the resources provided. Raise your voice to make a change in the training programme.

Join Cath Brooksbank (ELIXIR-EBI) in a webinar about the ISCB competency framework

26 January 2021 | 3 pm CET, Online

The ISCB competency framework was developed by the ISCB Education Committee in consultation with a global community of bioinformatics professionals. Initially written as a tool for bioinformatics educators to devise and assess curricula, it provides a minimum information standard defining competencies (including skills, knowledge and behaviours).

During the webinar, Cath will describe the new version of the framework and show how trainers and educators can use it in planning / updating their curricula.
