This week's highlights

ELIXIRs role in shaping policy

Publicly funded research infrastructures, such as ELIXIR, enable the creation of scientific knowledge and drive innovation. Due to both the substantial public investment necessary for their creation and maintenance, and the significance of their contribution to the scientific community, research infrastructures have a role to play in public policy.

An iterative and interdisciplinary categorisation process towards FAIRer digital resources for sensitive life-sciences data

A EJP RD | EOSC-Life paper

For life science infrastructures, sensitive data generate an additional layer of complexity. Cross-domain categorisation and discovery of digital resources related to sensitive data presents major interoperability challenges. To support this FAIRification process, a toolbox demonstrator aiming at support for discovery of digital objects related to sensitive data has been developed. The toolbox is based upon a categorisation system developed and harmonised across a cluster of 6 life science research infrastructures.

Extensive proteome and functional genomic profiling of variability between genetically identical human B-lymphoblastoid cells

An ELIXIR-HU paper

In life-science research isogenic B-lymphoblastoid cell lines (LCLs) are widely known and preferred for their genetic stability. In this paper, the authors present additional datasets generated with Next Generation Sequencing techniques to provide genomic and transcriptomic profiles, protein-DNA interactions, together with mass spectrometry and flow cytometry datasets to monitor the changes in the proteome. These datasets were shared with the scientific community according to the FAIR principles.
