Last chance to register for the ELIXIR Innovation and SME Forum in Cambridge on 23-24 January 2018. The registration deadline is this Friday 19 January.

The ELIXIR Webinar will this week present how to access and visualise rare disease alignment files stored in the European Genome-phenome Archive. Wednesday 17 January, 15.00 CET

ELIXIR will have a booth at London Festival of Genomics 2018 on 30-31 January 2018. If you want to present your Node or specific service, please contact Prem at premysl.velek@elixir-europe.org

Updates from Platforms

The deadline for submission of applications to the Data Platform for the second round of Core Data Resource selection is 23:59 GMT this Wednesday, 17 January. A webinar about the process took place on 6 December 2017- slides are available on the webinar page.

The EXCELERATE Train the Trainer course on 30-31 January in Lausanne, Switzerland, is still open for registration.

The Train the Trainer Exchange programme has been approved. This programme will build a highly skilled and coherent community of trainers through exchanges between ELIXIR Nodes. The Call for Applications will launch soon.

A new EXCELERATE Training Impact & Quality Coordinator has been recruited. Kim Gurwitz will start working at the University of Cambridge on 1 February, continuing to develop a framework for measuring impact of the ELIXIR Training program.

The bio.tools now includes 10,000+ tools; a decisive step towards comprehensive coverage of the prevalent bioinformatics resources.

ELIXIR Belgium would like to reach out national and international partnerships to actively support training in data skills. If you would like to organise a workshop, or if you would like a special training to be delivered, we are here to assist and foster with such initiatives, please contact us.

There is still time to register for the Software Carpentry Workshop organized by the ELIXIR-IT. February 22-23, Milano-Bicocca, Italy.

Registration is also open for the Population Genomics: background and tools Workshop to take place on 21-27 April in Napoli, Italy.

Registration open for BioSB course Optimisation techniques in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology, on 12-16 February 2018, Wageningen, Netherlands.

Registration open for the SIB course Remake - Make-like declarative workflows in R, 5 March 2018, Zurich, Switzerland.

The Swedish ELIXIR Node is hiring Systems Developers with operational responsibility (DevOps) to Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab), Uppsala, Sweden.

Oxford e-Research Centre (part of ELIXIR UK) is recruiting two Research Software & Knowledge Engineers to work in Susanna A Sansone's team on infrastructure projects to deliver FAIR data and digital assets.
