Hub updates

ELIXIR Heads of Nodes will meet in Woking, UK, this week for their annual retreat meeting. The agenda includes the review of a number of new ELIXIR Implementation Studies scheduled for launch later this year, priorities for the 2018 Work Plan and discussion related to the next ELIXIR Scientific Programme (2019-2023). A full update from the meeting will follow.

We are pleased to announce that Susheel Varma has joined the ELIXIR Hub as Technical Coordinator for Human Genomics and Translational Data.

The second ELIXIR SME and Innovation Forum in 2017 took place last week in Barcelona, Spain. Read the report from the event for more details, including slides and photos.

Platform updates

The ELIXIR Tools Platform (EXCELERATE WP2) will be holding a workshop on Benchmarking: Incentives and Best Practices across Scientific Disciplines - Abstracting from Established Evaluations at the BC2 conference taking place in Basel, Switzerland on 12 September 2017. Full details.

Those interested in structural biology facilities may wish to complete a survey conducted by the iNEXT project, which aims to capture some of the key factors that affect the use of infrastructure by researchers across the broad life science sector.
