Demonstrating impact
The latest newsletter of the RI-PATHS project is now available. It reports on the recent round of participatory workshops, including one hosted by ELIXIR, to contribute to the creation of a common methodology for assessing the socio-economic impact of research infrastructures. Further consultation took place during an interactive workshop at the ELIXIR All Hands, and the workshop outputs will be made available soon via Impact Intranet group and participants.
Embed ELIXIR jobs on your site
You can now show the jobs on the ELIXIR jobs page on your ELIXIR Node website. You just copy a short piece of code and paste into your web page, and the vacancies should appear and update automatically.
The code is on the intranet and there are links to it from the Job vacancies page and the intranet home page. You can also download the source code and customise it as you please. The widget is already being used on the de.NBI website (ELIXIR Germany). Any feedback and suggestions are welcome! Email webmaster@elixir-europe.org.

The invitation for nominations for ELIXIR Platform ExCo positions remains open until 15 September. There are two new vacancies for the Tools Platform - more information is available on the ELIXIR website.
Registration is now open for all participants for this years Biohackathon in Paris on 18-22 November 2019. For details of the hacking projects please see the website.
Tool recommendations have now been integrated in the Galaxy workflow editor. Based on machine learning run on workflows previously executed across UseGalaxy, now Galaxy offers the user suggestions of tools to use.

Registration remains open for the 15th International Symposium on Integrative Bioinformatics from 18-20 September 2019, in Paris, France. The deadline for abstract submission to present a talk is 31 July.

The Sternberg group at Imperial College are pleased to announce the following web-based resources to model the impact of missense variants on protein structures.
- PhyreRisk maps genetic variants to experimental and predicted protein structures.
- Missense3D provides a stereochemical report (e.g. loss of an H-bond) on the effect of a missense variant on experimental and predicted protein structures.
