Over the last two months, ELIXIR Nodes have reacted swiftly and promptly to support researchers in their combined efforts against the pandemic.
We recently listed the bioinformatics services within ELIXIR available to researchers to assist all COVID-19 projects. In addition to running specific services, ELIXIR Nodes have continued to provide several support activities locally and internationally, from provisioning compute capabilities for the recent Virtual COVID-19 BioHackathon, to helping collect viral sequence data from hospitals. Some Nodes have prioritised access to their national cloud and compute facilities for all COVID-19 research projects, while others have developed tools to search, access and share all data related to the pandemic in a national healthcare setting.
A new dedicated resource on the ELIXIR website presents examples of these ongoing efforts from the ELIXIR Nodes. The interactive map, which will be updated continuously, helps users navigate these efforts by country.
