ELIXIR is delighted that Premysl Velek has joined the ELIXIR Hub as Communication and Outreach Officer. Premysl will lead the day to day communications and outreach activities of ELIXIR, supporting the dissemination of ELIXIR-related activities across the ELIXIR Nodes. He will lead on content production for the ELIXIR website, newsletters, printed materials and social media. He will also maintain a network of communications experts from across ELIXIR Nodes and contribute to the development and implementation of ELIXIR’s Communication Strategy, to be developed later in 2015.
With a background in web-based communications for science organisations, Premysl joins ELIXIR from Brussels, where he worked for European Schoolnet, running the Communications Work Package for a large FP7-funded project. Previously, he held communications posts for the European Science Foundation in Strasbourg and the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague.
