Sweden has become the second country to ratify the ELIXIR Consortium Agreement (ECA), which is the document that provides the legal basis for ELIXIR. The ECA has already been ratified by the United Kingdom and EMBL. ELIXIR will become a permanent legal entity when a further three countries sign the ECA. This is expected to happen in the coming months.
ELIXIR is built upon bioinformatics services run by Nodes in participating Member States and Sweden has a strong track-record of such provision. The ELIXIR Sweden Node will focus on international services around the well-used Human Protein Atlas resource.
